Langer Winstanley produced Madness album The Liberty of Norton Folgate continues to go from strength to strength achieving silver status in less then 3 weeks with sales of over 70,000 in the UK alone. The album is expected to achieve gold status very soon.

Great news for both Clive & Alan and Madness this week they have not one but two albums in the UK top 40.

After its rapturous critical acclaim new album ‘The Liberty Norton Folgate’ has entered the chart at number 5, the highest position for a Madness studio album since 1981’s ‘7′ album. The bands first best of ‘Complete Madness’ originally released in 1982 has re-entered the charts again at number 38 too.

As part of a feature for the new Madness record Madness Central have interviewed Clive (and will be interviewing Alan) about the process of making the new album The Liberty Of Norton Folgate. Clive’s interview can be heard and viewed here.

Fresh from finishing the Madness album, Clive has flown out to Malibu to demo some new tracks with Rob Skipper’s (of Holloways/Larrikin Love fame) new band The Musical Differences.

After almost 3 years of work Clive and Alan have now finished working with Madness on their first studio album of new material for 10 years.

The album titled “The Liberty Of Norton Folgate” is due for release in May this year via the bands own Lucky 7 records and is available for pre order at the bands website.
